According to the author in the 1930 there were still 30 big deep-sea square rigged ships sailing in general trade where it was economocially feasible. He sailed on two voyages and took photographs of the ship and crew. In the course of a nine-month round trip they deliver 4,800 tons of grain, loaded by hand, from South Australia to England for 7,440 pounds sterling and expect to show a profit of 1,440 pounds sterling. His original photographer was killed early in the voyage, no details given. The photos are wonderful. $20.00
